The 2024 Army Emergency Relief campaign at Redstone Arsenal kicked off Thursday, with a goal of $200,000.

The campaign, launched during the second annual Team Redstone Financial Symposium, runs through June 14.

“Redstone is the only installation in the Army that has more money coming in (for AER) than it gives out,” said Capt. Jeremy Myles, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company AMCOM, and the AER coordinator for Redstone.

The 2023 Redstone Arsenal AER brought in $185,000 in donations from 435 donors. Twenty-five Soldiers received $56,000 in assistance.

AER is 100 percent funded through donations, said Olivia Pierce, the Financial Readiness Program manager at Army  Community Service.

“Our No. 1 contributors here at Redstone are retirees,” she said.

The Army’s only nonprofit financial assistance organization,  AER provides grants and interest-free loans to promote mission readiness and help relieve financial distress on Soldiers and their Family members.

Since 1942, AER has helped 4 million Soldiers and provided $2 billion in assistance.
