FORT KNOX, Ky.– The annual fundraiser campaign aimed to alleviate financial hardships of Soldiers and Army Families is coming to a close May 15.

Now in its 81st year, Army Emergency Relief has raised nearly $2 billion in financial assistance and supported four million Soldiers since its creation. Fort Knox leaders set a goal of 25 percent active-duty participation for the 2023 campaign. Currently, the installation is at 22.3 percent participation.

As of May 8, Fort Knox contributions totaled $132,274.

Donations can be made to unit representatives or online. Last year, about $400,000 went directly to Fort Knox Soldiers and Family members.

AER funds provide grants, interest-free loans and scholarships to active duty, retired and eligible Reserve Soldiers. All donations are tax deductible, with 91 cents of every dollar going directly to recipients.
