AER Receives $1M Grant from Lockheed Martin

Army Emergency Relief received a donation of $1 million from Lockheed Martin Corporation. The grant, delivered on May 21, will go directly to financial assistance programs for Soldiers and their Families affected by COVID-19.

“AER is grateful to Lockheed Martin. Their generous gift will make a big impact on the lives of thousands of Soldiers,” stated Lt. Gen. Ray Mason, Director of Army Emergency Relief. “In a time when so many Americans are affected by this crisis, we are thankful that Lockheed Martin chose our nation’s Soldiers as a focus for their wide philanthropic support.”

This most generous grant will expand AER’s financial support for Soldiers and their Families affected by COVID-19, including assistance for critical needs such as housing and basic living expenses to DOD travel ban or stop movement orders, needs arising from spouse loss of income, financial requirements of quarantine, as well as expanding support for Army National Guard and Army Reserve Soldiers activated in response to COVID-19. Expanded support provides assistance for canceled deployments, transportation and basic living expenses, and insurance premiums for TRICARE Reserve Select, Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI), and Family Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (FSGLI).
