AER assistance available for flooding in Midwest, Kentucky, Tennessee

Army Emergency Relief | Feb. 19, 2025

Army Emergency Relief assistance is available for Soldiers, retired Soldiers and Army Families affected by flooding in the Midwest, Kentucky, Tennessee and surrounding states. Those within a 50-mile commuting radius of an Army installation should contact their local AER office. Those outside of a 50-mile radius of an Army installation can contact the American Red Cross at (270) 798-5518/7859.

Eligible individuals may receive financial aid to help cover essential expenses needed to sustain themselves after the disaster.

Who is eligible for AER assistance?

  • active-duty Soldiers and their eligible Family members
  • retired Soldiers and their eligible Family members
  • medically retired Soldiers and their dependents (including those on the Permanent Disability Retired List or Temporary Disability Retirement List)
  • retired Army Reserve and National Guard Soldiers receiving retired pay and their eligible Family members
  • surviving spouses and children of Soldiers who passed away while on active duty (including those on Title 10 orders) or in an eligible retired status
  • members of the Army Reserve and National Guard (Title 10, U.S.C.) on continuous active duty for more than 30 consecutive days and their eligible Family members

  • If within 50 miles of an Army installation: Contact your installation’s AER office.
